Each and every year Maryland State Fairgrounds plays host to one of the largest motorcycle shows on the east coast which is known as the Timonium Motorcycle Show (TMS). Enthusiasts, builders and patrons come to witness the bevy of custom sportbikes, baggers, choppers, drag bikes, vintage cycles and antiques of every make. With the TMS attendance rising annually the 3-day bike festival housed over 45,000 showgoers for 2016!

Back from last year and a huge hit this year was the “Travel, Touring & Adventure” exhibit which showcases key essentials to the lifestyle of motorcyclists. Many riders take their bikes on long road trips across the nation, along the open road to absorb the beautiful sights the region has to offer. Gracing the show’s presence were some of the world’s top adventure riders and tour experts. Just to name a few were Simon and Lisa Thomas, The Adventure Trio – Terry, Sandy and Jack Borden, Steph Jeavons, Rene Cormier, Rob Beach – Beach’s Motorcycle Adventures, Ayres Adventures and Edelweiss Bike Travel. This gave patrons the opportunity to interact with some of the most noted, interesting and passionate motorcycle adventurists there are.

There was also a great discussion about the ABATE of Maryland Legislative agenda, the largest association of motorcycle riders in Maryland whose members have joined together to advocate training as the foremost means of reducing accidents and injury in order to cease discriminatory legislation and explore ways to improve the overall motorcycling experience in Maryland. ABATE also provides for and assures the freedom and affordability of motorcycling. This is very important because motorcyclists in Maryland and nationwide are presented with challenges from some elements of society that would eliminate or severely restrict cycling by way of restrictive laws or prohibitive insurance costs.

Throughout the show prizes were given away by Thunder Roads Mid Atlantic, live radio broadcasts from 98 Rock and plenty of games such as the Bikes and Babes Newlywed Game and a Strong Man Competition to keep the crowd entertained. Courtesy of One Rock Studio and Coleman Powersports there was also a free Fastlane Booth for picture taking. The show wouldn’t be complete without the contests from the lovely ladies of Girls of ThunderRoads. This year guests were treated to a Leather & Lace Valentine Show, Line Dance Lessons, Daisy Dukes and Cowboy Boots Fashion Show and the Bikini Contest.
